We were recently asked to give pre -retirement seminars to the road maintenance workers at a Leightons / Boral depot in Sydney recently.
This involved running seminars to tie in with shift timings, which meant presenting at 7am and 9pm. While it wasn’t the kind of audience that normally attends retirement planning seminars, the response from many of the staff was very enthusiastic. Clearly no one had ever told them about the many lifestyle changes that they would have to manage in retirement.
This was just another indication that more and more companies are coming to understand that retirement is about more than just organising your money.
