“Over 50, exercise is no longer an option.”  That’s a confronting statement for a 60 year old who’s thinking that it’s time to ease off on physically challenging activities.

However the advice comes from someone who knows what she’s talking about.  Victoria Gill runs the Green Apple Wellness Centre in Brisbane and she has spent the last 20 years studying health issues for over 50s.  Her centre is full of people aged between 50 and 85 and they are all working out, but under well trained and experienced coaches.

Most of the fitness and health books on the market are aimed at younger people.  Let’s face it , lycra and  60+ year old bodies are not generally a great fit.  However bodies over 50 need a different range of exercises  to younger people  and it’s easy to cause damage  if we get it wrong.

The fact is that after 50, we are no longer bullet proof and we need regular exercise if we wish to stay healthy and maintain a good quality of life.  Just walking is not enough.

To assist people in this area, we have published a book titled “How to stay Healthy, Active and Sharp in Retirement”.  It was written by 15 leading health experts and it covers issues like:  exercise; healthy eating; handling stress; achieving wellness; the importance of attitude; mental fitness and much more.  This book will help you to stay fit and healthy in retirement.
